Cider Summit Chicago FAQ’s

How large are the portions? How much cider do I get per tasting ticket?
The standard portion is 2-ounces per tasting ticket. Approximately 15%-20% of the ciders are served in smaller portions due to alcohol content or unusually high pour cost. Portion sizes are indicated in our event guide and at menus on the cider vendor tables.

Can I purchase extra tasting tickets during the festival?
Yes - extra tasting tickets are available at our event store for $2 each.

Can I purchase bottles or cans of my favorite ciders or spirits?
No - unfortunately our event license does not allow us to sell bottles or cans to-go. You may purchase extra tasting tickets and event merch at our Event Store, located near the stage.

What is the pre-opening cider-cheese-charcuterie tasting add-on?
This is a hosted tasting/pairing featuring ciders from The Northman & Uncle John’s along with regional cheeses & charcuterie. We have selected 4 pairings and the tasting will be guided by local cheesemonger Alicia Norris Jones. There are a very limited number of tickets available. You must also purchase a festival VIP or General Admission ticket in order to participate in the pre-opening tasting.

How come you don’t have my favorite cidery or favorite cider from brand XYZ?
Each cidery that chooses to participate in the festival determines the products they’d like to feature at the event.

Do you offer tickets on Groupon or have any discount offers?
Our best deal is to purchase before January 1 which will save you $5 on General Admission tickets. We do not offer tickets on Groupon or similar platforms.

Do I have to purchase tickets online? Can I purchase at the door or elsewhere?
General Admission tickets will be available at the gate for $55 - which includes all taxes & fees. There is a $1 charge for debit and credit card transactions. Designated Driver (no alcohol consumption) tickets are available at the gate for $10/$11. This includes admission and a bottle of water.

Do I have to print my ticket or can you scan from my phone?
We can scan the ticket bar code from your phone.

I purchased a ticket but can no longer attend. How do I get a refund?
Cider Summit tickets are non-refundable but are transferable. You may give or sell to others. Please be aware of purchasing tickets via posts on Facebook. Often these are scams.

I purchased a ticket but never received an email confirmation (or can’t find it). What should I do?
You can email us at: info(at)cidersummit.com or you may contact Bold Type Tickets at: info(at)boldtypetickets.com. From February 1 on, you will get a faster response from Bold Type Tickets.

Can I purchase a Designated Driver ticket online?
No - d/d tickets are available only at the gate. You must be 21+ to purchase this ticket as well.
